Buddha the Illuminator

There are three things that can light up the world. The moon illuminates the darkness of the night, the sun illuminates the world, and a Buddha illuminates the darkness of the mind. As we understand, that stain of ignorance, greed, and hatred causes beings to revolve in samsara i.e. the cycle of birth and death in the planes of existence.

The Buddha's presence is a blessing to a world engulfed in long darkness. Even though the Buddha has long passed away, the Dhamma he taught is still a precious legacy for generations

for generations.

Master Hui Neng

Synopsis :

Master Hui Neng's life is really interesting to follow. Born into a poor family, he did not have the opportunity to receive formal education. But the roots of virtue that he had, enabled him to understand a verse of diamond silk he heard from someone when he was on his way to town selling firewood. The “limited enlightenment”, which he obtained from hearing the sutra, was the beginning of his journey to become a zen master, the 6th patriarch.

Master Yu Jing Yi

Synopsis :

During the Ming dynasty, there lived a scholar named Yu Jing Yi. During his life, his family was always hit by misfortune and trouble. Seven of his nine children died, leaving only a son and a daughter. As if the suffering wasn't enough, his only son went missing somewhere. His wife was in deep sorrow. He kept crying until he saw the vision in his eyes. 

Yu Jing Yi always wonders, why is his life always miserable, why does he always do good deeds but don't get good karma?

Living In Harmony

Synopsis :

The Sigalovada Sutta is a Sutra containing the Buddha's teachings to Sigala, the son of a Buddhist family who resided in Rajagaha. His parents were devout Buddhists and devoted to the Buddha, but failed to get their son to follow in his footsteps. Various attempts have been made to get Sigala to meet the Buddha or his disciples and listen to the Dhamma. But Sigala thought that there was no point in visiting the Sangha, because of that

will not bring material benefits, will even result in material losses. His thoughts were only on material well-being and thought spiritual mental progress was pointless.

In Buddhism, giving means cultivating oneself and is the first principle in the 6 paramitas, it is an expression of love which means eliminating one's ego and balancing one's heart to care for others. Like a mother who always cares and loves her sons and daughters selflessly.

Buddha's Word

Synopsis :

This book tells the story of the bodhisattva Ksitigarbha's compassion for worldly beings who are overwhelmed by ignorance, greed and hatred, continuously cultivating bad karma through thought, word and deed. This book is packaged in comic form by Lin Ju Qing, in the hope that it will be easier to understand. Jambudvipa (human realm) beings often have wrong views, so they are trapped in a life full of bad karma. Understanding the great suffering of the Jambudvipa being, the Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha resolved, "If hell had not been empty, I would not have attained Buddhahood."

Sariputra

Synopsis :

Suppose one meets a wise person

who is willing to point out and tell his faults, like a man showing a treasure. Let him associate with the wise, it is indeed good and blameless to associate with the wise." Sariputra was one of the Buddha's most important disciples, he became an arahant renowned for his great wisdom.

The Art of Changing Fate
4 Teachings of Liao Fan

Synopsis :

In sixteenth century China, Master Yuan Liao Fan wrote Liao Fan's Four Teachings, hoping that they would guide his son, Yuan Tian Qi. How to understand the true face of fate, distinguish good and bad, correct mistakes and practice virtue. The text also contains living evidence of the benefits of practicing virtue and developing character and humility. When recounting his own experience in changing nasb, Mr. Yuan Liao Fan himself has become the embodiment of his teachings.
